The Computer Science group is performing research and education in modern Computer Science, supported by dedicated facilities.

Our goal in education is to take people with raw talent and intellect, nurture them in our environment through a thorough immersion in research and coursework, and produce well-educated researchers and future leaders. To this end, a variety of courses, labs, and seminars is offered. The undergraduate program, leading to a B.Sc. degree, is Computer Science.

We actively seek and maintain international cooperations in research and education. One particular feature are exchange programs with universities such as Carnegie Mellon University or Rice University. In addition, strong relationships are maintained to companies and industrial research labs where our students find jobs and excel.

The high quality of the CS education at Jacobs University is also regularly confirmed in rankings (highlights and achievements). In a CHE ranking, the general study situation ("Studiensituation insgesamt") in CS at Jacobs University is ranked on the 1st place among more than 80 universities in Germany and selected European institutions.
